London Badminton Club (part of LBA) requires that all members and guest follow the participation rules as listed below:

1. Drop-in fees

    • Drop in fees must be paid at arrival. Seek out the volunteer on duty to pay the fee (currently $5). Allow the volunteer to record your full name before you start to play. See “New Policies” for detailed drop-in rules.

2. Rules Governing Play:

  • We follow the BWF 21-point scoring system.
  • Players are expected to act courteous and make their own games.
  • In the event that there are more than eight individuals waiting to play a game, players are expected to sign up their games (four individuals) on a white board to create a playing order.
  • Please follow the order once created, and ask the volunteer on duty for assistance if you need to set up a game.
  • Only put your name on the board after you have finished playing.
  • Singles games are not allowed if the courts are full and there are people waiting to play doubles.
  • If you do not wish to play a game but want to practice hitting the shuttle. You can only use half of the court, and your playing partner must leave the court after 10 minutes to allow others to play games.

3. Conduct and Etiquette:

  • We expect members and guest to conduct themselves in a respectful manner. We do not allow any type of abusive, discriminative, and aggressive and threatening behavior.
  • Misconduct will be reviewed, warned, if necessary, result in suspension of playing privileges.
  • Arguments and disputes should be brought to the attention of the Volunteer on Duty. Please follow the direction of the volunteer. If you have issues with the volunteer please email register@londonbadminton.ca with your complaint.

4. Lost and Found:

  • If you lost something, please contact London Badminton Club at dropin@londonbadminton.ca instead of the school or Community Centre.

5. Injuries and Liability

  • Players participate in badminton related activities at their own risk.
  • Players need to have a health card or medical insurance in Canada.
  • London Badminton Club shall not be held responsible for any injury or accidents during club organized events.
