The 2016 Christmas Cup Tournament will take place on November 19th and 20th, at London Central Secondary School. Listed below are the tournament schedule and format for all events as well as other general information. The registration deadline is Tuesday, November 15th, 2016.


EVENTS SCHEDULE:
November 19 (1:30 pm to 10:00 pm)
Men’s Singles: 1:30pm, Nov 19, 2016, Saturday
Mixed Doubles: 4:30pm, Nov 19, 2016, Saturday
November 20 (1:00 pm to 10:00 pm)
Women’s Singles: 1:00pm, Nov 20, 2016, Sunday
Women’s Doubles: 2:30pm, Nov 20, 2016, Sunday
Men’s Doubles: 4:00pm, Nov 20, 2016, Sunday

Events are subject to minimum registration of 4 teams and maximum of 16 teams. In case of low registration, that particular event may be cancelled. An email with the finalized event schedule will be send out to all participants shortly after the registration deadline.


FORMAT:
All players will be self-drawn into groups and first undergo a non-elimination group round-robin to determine seeding at the start of each event. All players will then move onto the single elimination playoff upon conclusion of group, in which placement will be determined by your win/loss records during the group round-robin. In the scenario of identical win/loss record, total point differential will be used as a tie-breaker. All matches will adhere to the 21-points format in a best of three set. Prizes are available to the top 3 finalists of each event.


SHUTTLES:
Lining (A+ 300) feather shuttlecock will be provided and used throughout both group stage and single elimination playoff. Players may bring their own nylon shuttlecock for use in matches if both sides can reach a consensus.


T-SHIRTS:
All players will be given a London Badminton Association T-shirt courtesy of the club on the day of the event. Please indicate the T-shirt size during registration (ex. Small, Medium or Large).


REGISTRATION:
To register, please send an email to register@londonbadminton.ca that includes your name, partner’s name (if applicable), phone number(s), event(s), and T-shirt sizing(s). A confirmation email be send out after we have received your registration.


REGISTRATION FEE & PAYMENT:
The registration fee is $20 per person for the first event, and $10 extra for each additional event.
Payments: E-transfer to register@londonbadminton.ca (password: badminton); or pay in cash on the following regular play days, 19:30-20:30, Nov 5, Nov 8, Nov 10, Nov 12, Nov 15.


ATTENTION:
1. All awaiting participants and audience should stay at the auditorium upstairs to avoid congestion around the courts.
2. The presiding referee in each court has the absolute authority in making on-the-fly decisions and final calls that enforce the rules of the sport. Please respect the referees and their decisions.
3. All participants must sign on the Registration Forms and Disclaimers before any games can be played
