Dear Participants,
LBA 2018 Christmas Cup Tournament will take place on November 24th (12:30pm – 9:30pm) at Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre. Listed below are the tournament schedule and format for all events as well as other general information. The registration deadline is Wednesday, November 21th, 2018.

Events are subject to minimum registration of 4 persons/teams. In case of low registration, that particular event may be cancelled. Note that all events will start between 12:30pm and 4:30pm, and the specific start time of each event will be determined based off the numbers of participants. An email with the finalized tournament details such as the start time of each event will be sent out to all participants after the registration deadline.
FORMAT
All players will be self-drawn into groups and first undergo a non-elimination (best of 1) group round-robin to determine seeding at the beginning. All players will then move onto the single elimination playoff (best of 3) upon conclusion of group, in which placement will be determined by your win/loss records during the group round-robin. In the scenario of identical win/loss records, total point differential will be used as a tie-breaker. All matches will adhere to the 21-points format. Medals (gold/silver/brown) and prizes ($50/$30/$20) are available to the top 3 finalists of each event.
SHUTTLES
Feather shuttlecocks (Aeroplane, black) will be provided and used throughout both group stage and single elimination playoff. Note that, limit one shuttlecock per game. Players can use their own feather/nylon shuttlecocks in the match if both sides can reach a consensus.
REGISTRATION METHOD & FEE
To register, please send an email to register@londonbadminton.ca, including your name, partner’s name (if applicable), phone number(s), and event(s). A confirmation email will be sent out after we have received your registration.
Member (Sept 2018-Jun 2019 membership): The registration fee is $20 per person for the first event, and $10 extra for each additional event.
Non-Member: The registration fee is $30 per person for the first event, and $15 extra for each additional event.

All payments are to be paid by e-transfer. Please email us the password and indicate every player’s name and phone number on the memo of Email Transfer.

- The Registration Fee will not be refunded once you are successfully registered regardless your opt-out or partial absence from the tournament.
ATTENTION
- The presiding referee in courts has the absolute authority in making on-the-fly decisions and final calls that enforce the rules of the sport. Please respect the referees and their decisions.
- All participants must sign on the Registration Forms and Disclaimers before any games can be played
