To provide a better playing environment and to manage the courts more effectively, the London Badminton Club (part of LBA) has established the following new policies:
- LBA does not refund membership fees for cancellations and schedule changes outside LBA’s control. In the event of prolonged cancellations due to school board decisions, LBA will try to obtain alternative venues for members to play.
- It is the obligation of drop-in participants to seek out the LBA volunteer on duty and pay their fees before starting to play. The LBA volunteer may refuse the drop-in if the day’s drop-in limit has already been exceeded. Therefore, we recommend sending an email to dropin@londonbadminton.ca to check for available spots before showing up to play.
- The LBA volunteer on duty has the right to stop unpaid drop-in participants from playing until fees are paid.
- Failure to pay the drop-in fee will be recorded. Repeat offenders will receive a warning from the LBA. Failure to pay fees on three different days regardless of location will result in disqualification from future activities.
- We expect badminton participants to conduct themselves in a respectful manner. Respectful behaviors include paying fees promptly and follow the instructions from the LBA volunteer on duty. If you have a disagreement with the LBA volunteer on duty, please address your complaint to Leon or Victor by emailing register@londonbadminton.ca or in person. Members acting disrespectfully such as not following club rules, shouting, and physical altercations will be asked to leave the court immediately and may result in disqualification from future participation.
- Please note that LBA is a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers. Funds received goes to pay for court, shuttles, equipment, as well as activities that benefit badminton players in and around London. Members, as well as drop-in participants, are encouraged to assist with cleaning up and putting away the equipment so that we can start and leave the gym on time. We thank you for your support.
